![]() My only complaint, and it is minor, was that I had to walk to the lobby/lodge to use the free wifi. Their lodge looked fine, but the lower-priced cabins were clearly inferior to Signal Mountain Lodge. They reminded me of an ancient motel that hasn’t been upgraded since the 1950s. One more thing: if you’re looking at other facilities: we checked out the Jackson Lake Lodge driving by their non-view rooms/cabins – they look terrible. You can still enjoy the view from their nice lodge and restaurant. If that is all that is available, or it’s what fits your budget, don’t stress missing the view when you first get up, or just before you go to bed. I believe they would be of good value, considering you’re inside a National Park, where prices are always higher. A note on the other rooms/cabins at this resort: While we didn’t stay in the non-view rooms/cabins, I looked at where they were located and looked inside through the open windows or doors, when they were being cleaned. She still talks about that first amazing impression. Then, she quickly grabbed her coffee and settled into one of the chairs facing the large windows and just stared. Anecdote: when my wife came out from the bedroom to get her coffee the first morning we were there and was greeted by the extraordinary view, she paused and appeared a little stunned. The lower rooms, also have an outside sitting area, it’s just not private otherwise, I’m sure they are fine. The upper rooms also have a private deck with nice chairs looking over the lake and the Tetons – quite a place to enjoy your morning and evening beverages. Frankly, you could prepare simple evening meals there, as well. If you are worried about the price of this room, one suggestion, since there is a small kitchen, would be to moderate that cost by preparing your own breakfast instead of eating at the restaurant on the property. ![]() Both the kitchen and the bathroom had modern fixtures, granite countertops, etc. Our room was really a suite, with a separate large bedroom, a sofa-bed, that we only used as a sofa, and a small kitchen with table & chairs, as well as the bathroom. I wish I could give our room more than five stars because of the view – wow! Honestly, unless you’ve been here many times before and/or will be coming and going in the dark so that you can’t take in the view, spend the extra money and make a great memory for yourself and those whom you love. But, my review is of the specific room type mentioned in the title: The Lakefront Retreats (View Rooms). It was clean, had modern bathroom fixtures, and the staff was very friendly – all of that was good. First, let me say that this lodge would be three to four stars if it were located anywhere else and, I consider those good ratings.
